Rainbow partners with Liquid Protocol to power in-app token launchpad
Rainbow has partnered with Liquid Protocol to power Rainbow’s in-app token launchpad. Liquid Protocol is founded by @_proxystudio and @m00npapi (both prev. Clanker).
- Liquid Protocol tokens now power Rainbow’s in-app token launchpad and King of the Hill functionality.
- Rainbow is charging 0% swap fees on all Liquid Protocol tokens in order to provide the best trading experience for all Liquid tokens.
- 100% of LP fees from all tokens created in Rainbow go to the token creator.
- Rainbow and Liquid Protocol have a 50/50 share on protocol fees.
Management Commentary
It’s no secret that launchpads are among the best businesses in crypto.
Rainbow has twice made attempts at an in-app token launchpad. Once in March 2025 where we rolled our own smart contracts and again in September 2025 with our attempt to acquire Clanker and integrated Clanker into King of the Hill.
Both haven't met expectations from a revenue or usage perspective.
There’s two key takeaways that we have from this partnership.
- We are continuing to experiment around fee structures, which is the biggest consideration we have when growing share of wallet with our user base. For all Liquid Protocol tokens, we don’t charge any front end swap fees. Instead, we get half of the protocol fees, regardless of where the tokens trade.
- We are flexing existing userbase and distribution to negotiate a deal that has the potential to be viewed in a similar light to the Coinbase/Circle USDC revenue share in future years.
The impact so far is that token launchpad showed up as material revenue line for us in April 2026 (~13% of revenue).
